My Dad recognized Roy’s manager out front of Carnegie Hall and was brought up a side staircase to the dressing room to be able to say hello before the show. Roy always had his amp on a chair turned backwards and his guitar plugged straight in. He did this to be able to crank the treble without worrying about causing brain damage to his fans.
